The water level continues to rise – Rhine closed to shipping. The Rhine near Basel reached the high-water mark on Tuesday evening due to the persistent rainfall. Navigation was therefore initially closed upstream on the Rhine. In the night to Wednesday, the water level increased again to 8.71 metres.
